fish skin leather and natural dyes

Scott has recently been over to Sweden to meet Lotta Rhame where he has been refining his knowledge and skills on tanning fish skins and dying them with natural plant dyes. Fish skins such as salmon, pike and trout make beautiful textured soft leather that is also surprisingly strong and due to its translucent quality is very easy to dye different colours. We’ll be at the green gathering this year showing people how to make this kind of leather and having some fun making dyes with the plants. We will also be running a course on fish skin leather and natural dyes later in the year, dates and venue to be confirmed.
