Magic Hands Massage

Healing has always been a part of my life, though I didn’t fully realise it at first. Growing up in a small mining town in North Nottingham, my world revolved around football. My first experience with healing came through my mother, who would lay her hands on me to soothe injuries—a practice rooted in her Pentecostal faith. While it felt natural at the time, I didn’t know this would later inspire my journey into the healing arts.

When I left home at 17 to travel, my understanding of healing deepened. A one-way ticket to Canada led me on an adventure across the country, but it also brought challenges. After enduring a grueling winter trek, I found myself in acute pain. That journey eventually brought me to Nelson, British Columbia—a haven for alternative practices and home to the renowned healer Dr Michael Smith.

Dr Smith’s acupuncture treatments not only healed my pain but also opened my eyes to the incredible potential of alternative therapies. I trained under him for four years, studying a variety of healing modalities and gaining a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection.

Dr Smith also founded the Applied Neuro Somatic Therapy Clinic, where I earned a diploma after an intense 52-week course. This program involved 16 hours of study each week, plus 10 hours working in a student clinic treating real clients. Our focus was on helping people overcome chronic pain and physical exhaustion—ailments often brought on by the pressures of modern life.

My Toolkit

I’ve been trained in a wide range of therapies designed to relieve pain, restore movement, and strengthen the body to prevent future injuries. These include:

  • Tui Na: A fast and invigorating Chinese massage technique

  • Deep Tissue Massage: Targets deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue

  • Trigger Point Therapy: Focused on releasing muscle knots and tension

  • Myofascial Release: Eases tension in the fascia (connective tissues)

  • Cranial Sacral Therapy: A gentle, hands-on technique targeting the central nervous system

  • No Hands Massage: A highly effective, therapist-friendly approach using forearms

Energy-Based Therapies:

  • Medical Qi Gong: Harnessing energy flow to support physical and emotional healing

  • Reiki (Levels 1 & 2): The Japanese art of energy healing through the laying of hands

  • Qi Gong and Dao Yin: Practices that combine movement, breathing, and meditation

Advanced Techniques:

  • Visceral Manipulation: Releasing restrictions in the abdomen and internal organs

  • Dynamic Body Therapy: An approach that encourages fluidity and movement

Reflexology & Holistic Therapies:

  • VTC Reflexology: Stimulating points on the feet to improve overall health

  • ITEC Holistic and Swedish Massage: Relaxing and restorative treatments designed for wellbeing

My training has emphasised a holistic approach, working not just with physical symptoms but also with the emotional patterns that contribute to pain. By releasing deep-seated tension, I aim to help clients create positive, long-lasting changes in their lives.
