Growing Futures Update October 2022

As Autumn approached the landscape changes to an array of yellows, reds, and sweeping orange colours.
Noxon permaculture allotment is bursting with rosy apples, sweetcorn, squashes and lovely ripe tomatoes.
As nature turns inwards, we begin to think about preparing for next year, building fresh compost, feeding and nurturing the soil and planning what delights we want to grow next year.

The children of St Whites Primary school have enjoyed weeding the raised beds and adding 'black gold' to the soil, nourishing them over the coming winter. It is aways delightful to hear the squeel of finding worms, and see the fascination of learning about caterpillars and their cycle of life.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing children deeply immersed in nature, mindful of the slightest insect movement and feeling the wind on their faces. We all at Growing Futures find an innate joy in passing on our knowledge and enthusiasm of nature to future generations of growers.
