Home Education Group

Over the past 6 weeks our Home ‘Ed’ pilot group has been a fantastic experience for both adults and children alike. The group has run from 10am-2.30pm starting with kneading dough to make bread - this is a very grounding activity and helps the children to settle, focus and get into their bodies ready for the day.

We then play some ring time games, incorporating yoga and chi gong (not that they know this!). and sometimes play parachute and maths games.

The children all go off for a walk with Scott and Dunc while the adults chop veg for a hearty soup and have a go at some crafts in peace!

We all come together for delicious fresh bread and soup and craft together for the afternoon.

The day is finished with a couple more games and goodbyes for the week!

Some of the crafts we’ve done so far are needle felting, carving skills, willow weaving, wet on wet painting, copper jewellery making.

Some of the feedback from families: ‘Me and my children love this group, its pretty much what I hoped home education would be like. Giving chance for like minded parents and children to come together’

‘This is such an incredible grouping such a rare gem to find. Both children and parents flourish and thrive together in nature. Long may it continue’

‘My kids and I are totally gushing about this group and I can’t say enough good things. We all look forward to it avidly. Everyone is so kind, skilled and competent, its a real gem'.’

‘Fabulous, Absolutely loved the group. Been invaluable to my son with mental health issues. Would love this group to continue forever’

‘This is such a great resource as a home educating family in the forest the children are learning about their surrounding and learning practical skills that will take them through lfe’

Foresters Forest - our funders have now released the second instalment of funding which means we can continue to run the group until next March - we have had to split the group into 2 to run alternate weeks and ensure everyone gets chance to attend!
