Eco Building

Many houses are built using foreign and prefabricated, environmentally UNsound materials, that not only destroy nature in the process, but disempower those living in them.

There is another way!

Traditional and low impact building techniques
are essential skills for resilient and regenerative communities.

In the Forest of Dean we were surrounded by woodland, which,
when managed sustainably and regeneratively can provide
all the materials needed to house, feed and clothe.

One of our aims is reviving these skills,
empowering communities to solve their own housing crisis.

We are highly skilled in a
range of eco building techniques such as:

  • Roundwood building

  • Timber framing

  • Cobbing

  • Straw-bale

  • Reciprocal roofs

Join a workshop, join our community:

Re-learn,
Re-member

and radically:
Re-wild yourself.

Kensley Sheds Eco Refurb

Our main base for the last 8 years which was a foresters shed in a state of disrepair and earmarked for demolition until we eco-refurbed using lottery heritage funds.

Using local western red cedar, waney edge cladding, insulated with recycled polyester. Entire new roof with skylights, installed a wood burner. New kitchen and toilet.

Sadly we were unfairly evicted in 2023 based on FALSE accusations made against us by the organisation who wanted us out!!
