HR Meeting 21-09-21
Present- Emma & Kelly
Context - HR is an important part of an organisation. Helping to keep staff, crew and volunteers feeling part of the organisation & onboard with the aims and ethos. Also making sure that we have correct procedures to safeguard crew and participants and stay within current legal frameworks.
Discussion of key areas included in HR: 1. Recruitment & Safer Recruitment policies: 2. Onboarding & Induction Training 3. Ongoing reviews & support / Continued Professional Development.
Recruitment - Kelly has templates for spreadsheet to monitor necessary training & certificates needed - Kelly will put one together. Emma shared the Google docs & Googledrive folders where some work has been started.
On boarding process - looked at website & what info we would include. Script for intro video previously drafted - to go back to this & start making the videos - Emma to look through & update and chat with ot, Kelly thinks Andrew will do some filming for this.
Kelly has template intro handbook from the gym that would work well & will begin work on this.
Ongoing reviews and development - discussions about ongoing training that could be put together - eg on history of heritage crafts & social history surrounding this, in a rewild context (lots of research gone into website areas for this) - This area on hold while areas of priority are addressed.
Discussion about funding - update on current bids for core costs & finding funding for this important part of the organisational work.
Current draft documents- Rewild Fair & Safe recruitment policy; Growing Futures Agreed way of working. Discussion regarding self employment vs employment/ zero.hour contracts / temporary contracts. Emma has added these to the shared folder which Kelly has access to, and Kelly will check these with her HR & Legal contact.
There is a feeling that as the project grows we should be moving towards employment under temporary or permanent contract, but some research needed to know what the additional costs might be and how to write these into future project funding bids.
