Back to Work at Sevenoaks Sensory Garden
We've had a lovely day over at Sevenoaks Care home today, working on the sensory garden which we designed and installed 5 years ago.
There has been no access to the garden during the pandemic and we were nervous about what we might find today, but staff at the care home have been doing a sterling job keeping a section of path weeded and we were pleasantly surprised that most of the specialist trees and shrubs have survived too! The strawberry tree, Mirabella, Asmead Kernel Apple tree, Chinese Redbud, a specialist Hawthorn Tree, American Elder, Sea Buckthorn, Eliagnus and lots of lovely sensory plants in the beds.
We were joined by some fab volunteers and Bex our lovely gardener who will be here running volunteer days fortnightly from now on.
If you’d like to be involved our next day is this Monday 10am-3pm - let us know if you can come along.
