Crops not Shops Visit to Rewild

It has been a great pleasure to be invited to come and experience the beautiful heart felt work of 'The Rewild project' and the team. I met Scott and Emma at Hemp Redemption festival and was so grateful to have made the connection as they are on a similar path of service as I am together with the work of 'Crops not Shops'.

I have spend 4 days engaged in different workshops and projects that the rewilding team offers and am delighted to be inspired by their work. It is so expansive and inclusive and empowers individuals and communities to live a traditional life by learning tools and techniques which were used by our ancestors. I have seen people of all generations open up to their creative self and feel nurtured to do so. I am grateful to have an opportunity to be witness to the amount of dedicated service that takes place behind he scenes to allow people to feel welcome and empowered to take on and use the ancient knowledge of the land.

We at 'crops not shops' share a similar vision of empowering, inspiring and sharing knowledge of the old ways, where we would grow, harvest and share our own food. We are dedicated to helping one and all transform any green space into an allotment, which will in turn transform into wholesome food, shared through the free food sharers networks being set up throughout the UK. What is food? I find myself asking in many inspired conversations had recently. It is definately not the plastic wrapped, chemically/ genetically engineered stuff on the shelves of most supermarkets. Where is our food made or grown? In factories or in the ground/ the earth? This is what we need to consider.

There are so many profound yet simple questions coming to mind these days. What is food? What is life? What is love? What is freedom? You can only answer these questions yourself, but once we start to ask these questions then the quest for real knowledge begins. 'The Rewild Project' and 'Crops not Shops' are here to support and inspire individuals and communities on their quests to discover how we could be living right now.

Its been so beautiful to see the work that the rewild team are doing with children. Children and their future, the earth and society that they will inherit, should be represented in every decision made. This is how it was in indigenous tribes. Crops not shops work with devotion to the next seven generations and re-establishing freedom in 5 steps, free food, free education, free healthcare, free energy and free housing. It's also about recognising the knowledge inherent within the children born at this time and the wisdom of the earth which shines through them, and what can we do as a community to provide the most enriching and nurturing environment for them to flourish.

Crops not Shops has given me an invitation to look at the interconnectedness of all things and I believe this is the invitation of this time. How we connect to the land is how we connect to each other and our Self. You are being invited to connect with the land, community and your self through growing food for today and future generations.

Please get in touch through our website or contacting me personally. We are a organisation run purely on donation and volunteers. Our team are spread throughout the UK. Our next initiative is to transform 50 gardens into allotments in 50 days, and perhaps your garden will be one of the 50.

With all the love of the earth, Laura.
