Wildlings Holiday Club

Children aged 5 - 12 yrs

Send your little wildlings to join The Rewild Project team for fun packed creative school holidays days at both our 3/4 acre rewilded permaculture allotment, and Kensley Sheds Craft Centre.

Each day we run 2 sessions with a crossover for lunch - 9.30am - 12.45 & 12 - 3.30pm, offering a range of heritage crafts, nature and land based activities such as:

  • Willow Weaving

  • Ceramics

  • Jewellery Making

  • Textiles

  • Felt craft

  • Leatherwork

  • Growing and harvesting food

  • Chopping veg & cooking the famous ‘Rewild Soup’

  • Flower pressing

  • Pond dipping

  • Soil testing

  • Plant ID

  • Herb lore

  • Giant marble runs

  • Water play

  • Real tool area

  • Mud Kitchen

  • Sand play & wood-chip pile

Each day is gently structured to provide enough time for energy to flow both inwards and outwards, coming together for circle times, eating nourishing food together and exploring the senses, the seasons and listening to traditional stories.

Lunch & Snacks Provided

It is important to us to both support local producers, whilst providing your little ones with nourishing food to both cook and eat!

  • Lunch will be prepared with the children onsite each day using organic, local & fresh produce, picked from our allotment where possible, and supplemented with whole-foods.

  • Soups / stews / daals for lunch with bread, cheese and butter to add separately. All diets catered for.

  • Each morning & afternoon circle times we share oat cakes, corn cakes, fruit & porridge for snacks & locally collected spring water available throughout the day to drink.

We are often asked what the secret recipe is for the ‘Rewild Soup’ that the children keep asking for! And feedback from parents is that children who attend regularly want to be more involved with preparing food at meal times and are more open to trying new foods!

Holiday Club Crew & Ratio’s

We have 4 staff onsite for up to 20 children - this is a ratio of 1:5 which is double the recommended OFSTED ratio’s. We just don’t see how we can provide the high quality care, the level of freedom, support and quality crafts that we do, without this amazing team.

We also pay all the Rewild Project employed crew at £12-£15ph across the board, from admin crew, to project leads, and especially the holiday staff who work so hard. It feels fair to pay people a fair wage that they can live from. We want to move towards a society where we can all contribute without the need for money, living from the land, in harmony with the seasons. But until we have our own land, our crew need to earn a decent wage.
